A Basketball Boy!

Our little boy had a basketball hoop hanging on his crib since I was 5 months pregnant. Then for his first birthday we got him a little hoop and he has been playing basketball games with his Dad in the front room (Yes we keep the hoop in the front room!!) for a long time. He will only wear basketball jerseys and occasionally another sports affiliated shirt. All winter he wore a basketball jersey OVER sweats or even jeans! What I am trying to say is it was time to get him a real hoop and for his birthday we did. We made him close his eyes and come out to the driveway. When we told him to open his eyes I was standing there with the camera so he just looked and me and gave me a big cheese without ever looking at the hoop! Once he saw it we haven't been able to keep him from it. First thing in the morning he comes in our room dressed in a jersey and says I'm going to go play basketball. It is so fun to watch him and he makes a lot of shots.

A 4 year old boy!

Our little boy turned 4 this week! He had a week long birthday. Collin had a baseball party with his friends. They played water tee ball, had a baseball pinata, and had cupcakes and snow cones. Then we had a birthday dinner with Mom and Aunt Mandy and Uncle Ryan. When I put Collin to bed that night he said "remember that birthday party we had to night and we had CAKE?!" It was Gluten free of course but he was so excited, he had even helped me make it and licked the beaters. Then we took Collin bowling as a family ( he had begged for days!). Finally he had a birthday party with his cousins. This boy loves a birthday party. Tonight he asked me when it would be someones birthday so he can go to the party! Collin has also recieved lots of mail and we thank all those who remembered him at this special time. He is excited to be 4!

Crawfish and Popsicles

The boys spent a lot of time catching crawfish and Collin even caught one! Mazie ate way too may popsicles a the cabin.

Maxfield Family Reuinion

The trip was a little rough for Adam. We made a trip to the Hurricane insta care to find out he had a horrible kidney infection. He spent most of the trip kind of out of it. That is just to add to the hand foot and mouth and rash from head to toe and snotty noses we have had the past month! Because Adam was so sick we slept in Karen and Tony's toy hauler which was so nice but Collin was so upset we weren't sleeping in a tent. So thank you Mim and Pip for letting Collin "camp" with you!

Baily puppy loved the camping trip. She went for her first swim which she isn't sure she loved and she ate way way too may pinecones. She threw up for 5 days after!

Maxfield Family Reunion

The Maxfield family reunion was at Tony and Karen's cabin again this year. The kids had a great time! We don't even see Collin most of the time becasue he loves to play with his cousins. He loved playing on the zip line and it was a great improvement when Pip tied a rope to it so he could pull it back him self and go again. Rhio rides and 4 wheeler rides were a big highlight. Karen and Tony and Laurie put a lot of work into waht was a very fun time for our family. Mazie had a great time playing with Grady.

Summer time

Our kids are having such a fun summer. Collin is always bringing in bugs! No matter what kind it is... cricket, potato bug, box elder bug, or a moth it has to go in a jar so he can keep it. It is fine untill he leaves it too long and have to take care of all the dead bugs! Mazie and her friend Gage, they look like they are on their way to getting into trouble together!

Lake Powel

We had the greatest time at Lake Powel this year. It really is one of our favorite places and we are so grateful to Grandma Tricia for all her efforts to take us there. This year Collin was so brave and we couldn't keep him out of the water. Mazie was busy busy and the days were spent trying to keep her safe around the water. The trip is no longer about us, it is about seeing our kids having so much fun. Our favorites for the year are: Collin loved jumping in the water from the back of the boat and did so hundreds of times, being with his cousins, and see-do rides. Mazie loved the water balloons, drinking juice boxes, and driving anything she could get her hands on. Anne is so glad she water skied and didn't have to try to get up a hundred times. She also loved to watch what a great Dad Adam is and how great he is at teaching the kids about a place that he loved so much as a child. You can just picture Roger teaching Adam the same things. Adam loved sleeping out under the stars with Collin, the sunsets, and seeing our kids happy.

Presents from Pipi

Collin and Mazie got a huge box in the mail from Pipi, they were so excited to open it. Mazie got a new bike and a shopping cart and Collin got a piggy bank with money and a video game. The new toys have been the top choices for play the last 2 days. Thanks Pipi and Mimi for all the fun!

Happy Fourth Of July

We took the kids to the West Bountiful parade and they throw lots of candy- it is a highlight of our 4th (At least for Collin!) Both kids loved the fireworks this year.

Pipi's visit to Utah

We had a great visit with Pipi in June. We took him all over showing him what we do everyday. Collin was so excited that he got to see his Itty Bitty Ball summer class. We went to the zoo, the museum, summer classes, the Bees baseball game, did projects around the house, and ate too much food. Pipi got a whole new look at daily life with two kids, it can get kind of harry! We also learned that in many ways I am just like my Dad- I lost my keys I think everyday but my Dad was real calm because it happens to him all the time! It was such a special time that we got to be together and look fora\ward to doing it again. We love you Pipi
